Jacquard - The Inspiration for Christmas Collection 2018

THE STORY BEHIND THE PRODUCT LINE
Jacquard fabric features a raised pattern that is woven (instead of printed) onto the fabric. The Jacquard loom invented by Joseph Marie Jacquard in 1804, enables a device fitted to a power loom to simplify the process of manufacturing textiles for complex patterns such as brocade, damask and matelassé. Thabisa is proud to bring this Xmas Jacquard line while upholding this age hold manufacturing process and hopes to offer its patrons a glimpse into the labor of love that went towards the creation of the Xmas line.

DESIGN INSPIRATION

This design was inspired by elements of Xmas decorations - holly with red berries, snowflakes, pine cones, xmas foliage and stars. What starts off as a rough sketch, becomes the base fabric after multiple iterations of the design and colour combinations. After 4 long months, the product line comes to life and finds its way into homes.

I love Christmas, not just because of the presents but because of all the decorations and lights and the warmth of the season.
